Bio

I was born in Argentina, it is a beautiful country with many exceptional landmarks and national parks, we have the tallest mountain in the Southern hemisphere, Aconcagua.
I decided a few years ago that I would be the first Argentinian woman to climb that mountain, and in 2010 I successfully reached the summit at 23,000 feet MSL. It was an amazing adventure that changed the way I live my life until today. The impact of such an accomplishment is not simply the climb itself; it is the determination and willpower that will get you to the summit. During my two weeks climb, there were several stages along the route where we needed to stop to acclimatize to the change of altitude, the refuges camps are in an unbelievable setting, the scenery is spectacular, you need to stay in each camp a day so that your body creates red cells to fight altitude sickness, brain and pulmonary edemas, you also need to drink one liter of water for each one thousand meters above sea level, at high altitude we melt the snow and add minerals to drink, snow has very little minerals and we can’t carry water up the mountain up to those altitudes.

This adventure has given me the confidence to climb a second of the seven summits, in the fall of 2010, I decided to climb Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain and this time in the African continent, it was my first time in Africa, the people from Tanzania are the nicest people you can meet ,they were so friendly and attentive, I will gladly return one day if I ever have the opportunity. Kilimanjaro is a volcano that you can only climb very early in the morning, because the snow and the earth gets soft after sunrise, and you can not walk on it. The final climb starts at 11 PM the night before and you summit at five o’clock in the morning, if everything goes well, then start the trek down at around six and reach the altitude camp mid day. During the climb we traveled to very remote places in Tanzania and met the Massais, they are nomadic people that dress in very colorful blues and red fabrics, they are always walking with their herds next to them, they are also very friendly people, the young Massais were amazed by my hair, I guess they had never seen straight hair before. These are a few of my climbing adventures, hopefully they will be more in the future.
